March 19: The European Rural Bioeconomy Thematic Network brings together the primary sector to promote the rural bioeconomy

The session will be free and will be held in digital format, with the aim of connecting professionals and entities in rural areas interested in finding practical solutions for valorizing organic waste and by-products within the rural circular bioeconomy.

In Spain, the project includes the participation of AVEBIOM y Agri-food Cooperatives of Spain, Two entities committed to ensuring that useful knowledge reaches farmers, ranchers, cooperatives, technicians, SMEs and other agents in rural areas who are looking for new ways to add value organic waste and by-products.

The event is specifically aimed at farmers, livestock breeders, cooperatives, advisors, technicians, SMEs, innovation groups, rural development entities and agents linked to the forestry and agri-food sector, who want to learn about real-world experiences, identify opportunities applicable to their business, and anticipate EU regulatory changes related to sustainability and circularity.

During the meeting, the project will be presented, perspectives from different countries will be shared, and the platform will be unveiled. ERBN, conceived as a space to exchange knowledge, document solutions, and facilitate their dissemination among those who can adopt them. European Rural Bioeconomy Thematic Network – thERBN It also continues the previous work developed in initiatives such as BioRural, on whose community and base of cooperation it continues to build the new network.

For many farms, cooperatives, and small rural businesses, moving towards more circular models depends not on grand theoretical approaches, but on knowing What is already being done, what solutions work, what options exist for adding value to by-products, and how to anticipate regulatory changes coming from the EU. That's precisely where this event aims to add value: by bringing useful information and real-world experiences to those working on the ground.
