Solid Biofuels Price Index

The price index is a free and public tool developed by AVEBIOM that monitors the prices of various types of biofuels (wood pellets, olive pits and wood chips), in different sales formats (individual bag, pallet, bulk in tanker…) and sales locations (at the factory or at the point of sale to the consumer) in Spain.

In a global context where the transition to sustainable energy is fundamental, understanding the evolution of biofuel prices becomes essential for producers, consumers, energy service companies, and policymakers. It is frequently used to periodically index heat sales contracts (in a residential community, for example) or biofuel sales prices.

It is carried out quarterly for the main biofuels used domestically: wood pellets, olive pits, and wood chips. It includes taxes and transport.
