AVEBIOM posthumously awards the “Promoting Bioenergy 2025” prize to Román Monasterio Larrinaga

The decision acknowledges a track record of more than 25 years promoting the energy use of biomass, from engineering, promotion and its active participation in key projects, as well as its strong involvement in AVEBIOM, of which she was vice president since its constitution, and from where he made a decisive contribution to the development and consolidation of the sector in Spain.

Román has undoubtedly been a leading figure in the bioenergy sector in Spain; he leaves us with a way of working based on technical expertise, constant effort, and collaboration. This award is, above all, a token of gratitude for his work and his example.”,” he says Javier Díaz, president of AVEBIOM.

The award will be presented after the opening of the Renewable Gas Exhibition on October 1st at the Valladolid Trade Fair. His children will accept the award on his behalf.

About Román Monasterio Larrinaga

Industrial engineer, Vice President of AVEBIOM for two decades and, in the last statutory renewal (June 2025), Member of the Board of Directors (2025–2029). Likewise, it was CEO of Enerlan Solutions y founder of IDEMA and Grupo Lantec, with extensive experience in biomass and biogas projects. He passed away in August 2025.
