The exhibition began its tour yesterday in Laguna de Duero and it will arrive 250 municipalities throughout Spain between 2025 and 2030, with the aim of showing citizens, in a direct and understandable way, how heating with pellets and other biomass works, as well as the advantages of using this renewable energy in their homes, neighborhoods and municipalities.

Housed in a 60-square-meter exhibition semi-trailer, the exhibition combines immersive technologies, interactive models, real equipment provided by AVEBIOM partners, and educational content that allows visitors to understand how modern biomass heating systems work, how solid biofuels are obtained, the importance of sustainable forest management, and the positive impact of this energy on the local economy, air quality, and the fight against climate change.

Helena González Burón, a doctor in biomedicine and science communicator specializing in the area of new energies, has participated by explaining all these concepts to the students and encouraging them to express their doubts and thoughts.

We want everyone, wherever they live, to have access to clear information about renewable energy sources available in their area. Biomass is a readily available, mature, and sustainable solution that we should all be aware of and take advantage of.”, he pointed out Javier Díaz, president of AVEBIOM.

This exhibition is a very useful tool for young people to understand, through direct experience, that sustainable forest management is not an option, but a necessity. Educating them in these values is key to guaranteeing the future of our forests and rural areas.”,” the advisor stated. Juan Carlos Suárez-Quiñones.

An initial tour aimed at schools recognized as “Sustainable Educational Centers”

Between September 15 and October 1, more than 500 schoolchildren from Castile and León, aged 10 to 14, will participate in activities designed to foster critical thinking, respect for the natural environment, and knowledge about bioenergy. This phase is the prelude to the national campaign, which will be rolled out progressively in municipalities across Castile and León, Galicia, Asturias, and the rest of the country.

Castilla y León is one of the regions that has most strongly embraced biomass in its educational centers. According to the AVEBIOM Biomass Observatory, 135 schools and institutes of the 1,612 non-university centers Existing facilities in the community use biomass boilers or stoves for heating, which represents a 8,4% of the total. Thirty-seven of them They are integrated into heating networks.
