“Biomass in your Home” participates in the International Day of Forests 2026 in Madrid

Día de los Bosques 2026 Biomasa en tu Casa Madrid

The technical session on Friday the 20th will be held at the Music Box Auditorium of the Cibeles Palace, while on Saturday the 21st, activities open to the public will take place in Madrid Río, in the vicinity of Puente del Rey.

AVEBIOM's presence at this event reinforces the role of biomass within the forest bioeconomy and the sustainable management of natural capital. Juan Jesús Ramos Llorente, technician and head of the Biomass Observatory of AVEBIOM, participates in the block “Bioeconomy and sustainable management of natural capital”, planned for the Friday, March 20th, between 11:05 and 11:50 am.

On Saturday the 21st, “Biomass in your Home” will form part of the exhibition and activities space organized between the 11:00 and 14:00 hours in Puente del Rey, which also includes other educational proposals and demonstrations related to the mountains, wood and forest management.

Participation in this celebration fits perfectly with the objectives of the project promoted by AVEBIOM“Biomass in your Home” It is a traveling, immersive exhibition designed to introduce the public to a renewable, local, and well-established alternative for home heating. Housed in a 14-meter semi-trailer, it offers a hands-on demonstration of how solid biofuels, biomass heating equipment, and district heating networks work, while also explaining the relationship between renewable energy, sustainable forest management, local employment, and the energy transition.

Between September and the end of 2025, the exhibition toured municipalities of Castile and León, Galicia, Navarre and Aragon and attracted 3,000 visitors between the general public and organized groups. The exhibition connects particularly well with small and medium-sized towns, where biomass is more clearly perceived as a close, available and affordable solution for renewable heating.

The celebration of International Day of Forests 2026 is promoted by Together for Forests, the Forest and Climate Change Forum Association, and the Madrid City Council, with the collaboration of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, the Community of Madrid, and Cesefor. AVEBIOM is one of the sponsors of the event..
