Ökofen It has conducted tests in TÜV laboratories in Germany with boilers equipped with its new technology ZeroFlame® simulating various operating conditions throughout a year. The measurements taken achieved an average particle emission of only 2 mg/m³3 (13% O2).
A new flame tube design in the combustion chamber and a split exhaust gas recirculation system are behind this new technological development. These gases feed the primary air in the lower zone and are injected into the upper combustion zone at high temperature. The manufacturer claims this results in flameless combustion and minimal particulate emissions.
They claim it's an alternative to using filters, requiring less investment and maintenance for heating and hot water in single-family homes. Currently, the technology is available for the 10-16 kW Pellematic Condens condensing pellet boiler, but it will soon be extended to the rest of ÖkoFEN's boiler range, up to 512 kW.
Technology ZeroFlame® has been presented to 2021 Innovation Award in Bioenergy Organized by Expobiomasa. The deadline for submitting applications is June 30.
