The analysis, which monitored the main topics of conversation about urban sustainability in digital media and social networks for a full year, reveals a growing interest in solutions such as renewable heating and cooling networks.
Concepts such as urban decarbonization, renewable energies y efficient air conditioning They are becoming central to the public debate on the energy future of cities.
During the period analyzed, 106,000 mentions of urban decarbonization were recorded. More than 701% of these were found in informative publications with a technical and neutral approach, focused more on dissemination than on debate. The main lines of conversation centered on technology, energy, and transportation.
In this context, ENGIE highlights the strategic role of heating and cooling networks as key infrastructures to reduce emissions from building climate control. The company, which operates more than 40 thermal networks in Spain —some of them supplied with biomass, such as the one in Móstoles Ecoenergía—, promotes an energy model based on local resources and renewable technologies, which contribute to energy autonomy and the improvement of air quality in urban environments.
At AVEBIOM, we welcome the fact that the social debate is focusing on real and mature solutions such as biomass-powered heating networks, which, in addition to promoting decarbonization, offer other benefits such as the creation of local jobs or the revitalization of rural areas.
