From 2025, many companies are legally required to calculate and register their carbon footprint. This is established by new regulations approved in 2025, which particularly affect organizations in sectors such as industry, energy, transportation, construction, and public services.

The obligation comes into effect this year and the first reports must be submitted in 2026..

The new regulatory framework establishes that all companies with more than 250 employees or those classified as large accounts — that is, with more than 20 million euros in assets or 40 million in annual turnover for two consecutive years — must calculate their carbon footprint annually (scopes 1 and 2, and ideally also 3), develop a reduction plan with 5-year targets and publish this information in an accessible way on their website as part of their corporate sustainability report.

The Green Cube, Environmental Solutions SL., It offers a range of services to businesses, including:

  • Calculation and registration of the carbon footprint in accordance with current regulations.
  • Development of mitigation and decarbonization plans adapted to each activity.
  • Compensation of residual CO₂e emissions.
  • Support in communication and positioning as a company committed to sustainability.
