Saica Group relies on biomass to reduce CO2 emissions

This project represents an investment of 101.5 million euros and the creation of 440 jobs, with the aim of reducing the plant's CO2 emissions by 53%.

One of the project's most significant innovations is the development of a biomass-fired power plant, expected to produce over 700,000 tons of steam annually. Additionally, a biomass processing plant with a capacity of 161,000 tons per year will be built. In addition, they plan to integrate a biogas boiler to valorize the biogas generated in the factory's water treatment and purification plant.

In this way, they hope to improve energy efficiency and reduce natural gas consumption, and also strengthen Saica's environmental sustainability strategy.
