He Renewable Gas Exhibition It will be held again at the Valladolid Fairgrounds on October 1st and 2nd, 2024, in parallel with the 17th International Bioenergy Congress, dedicated once again to highlighting the latest technological and market developments for this sector.
The main companies that are promoting the growth of the sector in Spain, and that are also present in other countries of the world, have already secured their space at the largest event dedicated to biogas, biomethane and other renewable gases.
Remember that until May 31 Companies interested in participating can obtain a discount of between 10% and 20%. The exhibitor catalog and the terms and conditions for sponsorship can be found at [website address]. www.salondelgasrenovable.com
PRODEVAL It is the first global sponsor of the Renewable Gas Show, along with BioDynamics, Bioenergy Ibérica, Bondalti Water, Catalana de Biogás, Cycle Ø, Engie, Nortegas Renovables and Prezero, Premium sponsors.
The great allies in the defossilization of the economy
Since interest in renewable gases truly took off, no one doubts that they are key allies in the defossilization of the Spanish and European economies and, therefore, fundamental to achieving our energy independence. In Spain, we have 17 biomethane plants already in operation, but 97 more are in the planning stages.
“The trade fair and the congress play a crucial role in connecting the key players in the sector and facilitating the start of new projects, which are essential to achieving greater energy independence”,” he points out Javier Díaz, president of AVEBIOM.
One of the challenges in achieving this is optimizing biomethane's access to the gas network. According to a recent report by the European Biogas Association (EBA), 751% of biomethane plants in the EU are already connected to transmission or distribution networks.
Ensuring the injection of the new volumes of biomethane that will soon be available thanks to the facilities under development will require favorable legislative frameworks, the application of injection tariffs, the standardization of gas quality, and the establishment of cost-sharing agreements between network operators and biomethane producers for grid connection.
“Biomethane will be crucial for the decarbonization of industry, transport, and the primary sector in Spain, which has one of the greatest potentials in Europe and a gas network that will allow renewable natural gas to reach consumers without the need for new infrastructure. Biomethane is pure circular economy: renewable energy, waste valorization, and biofertilizers all in one.”, assures Luis Puchades, the recently appointed president of AEBIG.
Another key challenge for the viability of the plants is the management of the digestate, a by-product with enormous potential for valorization, which must be considered within the business plan of the projects.
