The \u201cPromoting Bioenergy\u201d award and the \u201cAwards for Innovation in Bioenergy and Renewable Gases\u201d recognize the importance of ensuring the sustainability of biomass and improving the efficiency of systems for its energy valorization.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Following the official opening ceremony, presided over by The Honorable Mayor of Valladolid, \u00d3scar Puente Santiago<\/strong>, and held this Tuesday, September 21, respecting the relevant safety measures, Javier D\u00edaz, president of the Spanish Biomass Association (AVEBIOM), organizer of the event, has pointed out that \u201cFor the bioenergy sector, the celebration of EXPOBIOMASA is fundamental, and this year even more so given the large number of standards and regulations being prepared at both European and national levels that substantially affect us, including those related to the sustainability of biomass.\u201d. <\/em><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

D\u00edaz has highlighted that sustainability \u201cThis is a key issue that AVEBIOM has been working on for some time, since its guarantee is our greatest strength.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The president of AVEBIOM has also stated that \u201cThe biomass being used in Spain is obtained in a completely sustainable way, as demonstrated by the results of the audits carried out on the companies ENCE and ENSO, the first in Europe to certify the sustainability of their biomass in the voluntary SURE scheme.\u201d.<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

With the decision to keep the event on the scheduled dates, and thanks to the collaboration of Feria de Valladolid, AVEBIOM continues to promote the commercial activity of the bioenergy sector and professional relationships in a safe environment.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

EXPOBIOMASA 2021 features 327 exhibiting companies, 76 of which are attending for the first time, from 15 countries. His Excellency Mr. Oscar Puente, Mayor of Valladolid, <\/span>handed it over \u201cPromoting Bioenergy\u201d award\u201d<\/span> to Ms. Susana Dom\u00ednguez, president of FSC Spain, and Mr. Francisco Javier Diaz Gonzalez, President of AVEBIOM, presented the award <\/span>to Ms. Ana Bel\u00e9n Noriega, Secretary General of PEFC Spain.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The award, created by AVEBIOM in 2010, has this year recognized the irreplaceable work of the two international organizations, which in Spain have already certified the sustainable forest management of nearly 3 million hectares and the good work of 3,000 companies, fundamental to achieving a <\/span>Use of biomass for energy with maximum guarantees of sustainability.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
