El día 23 de octubre de 2014, se celebró paralelamente a Expobiomasa, la feria de referencia en España y del dentro del TOP5 a nivel mundial para los profesionales, una nueva jornada exclusiva para alcaldes, responsables locales y empleados municipales donde se dieron a conocer de primera mano casos de éxito y soluciones que han permitido ahorrar en la factura energética y crear empleo en diferentes municipios. El evento se completó con reuniones bilaterales con profesionales que ofrecieron soluciones a medida y adaptadas a los diferentes municipios.

Colegios, residencias, ayuntamientos, redes de calor, polideportivos municipales, hospitales, piscinas públicas,…son algunos de los edificios que se han subido, en los últimos dos años, a la ola de ventajas que ofrece biomasa. En 2013, el número de municipios españoles con, al menos, una instalación era de 3.326, cifra que representa al 41% de los términos municipales del país. En 2014, se contabilizaron 3.721 localidades que usaban biomasa, es decir, el 46% de la totalidad de los municipios españoles.

Esta edición, entre los casos de éxito han gozado de especial protagonismo los proyectos de Redes de Calor, que han destacado por su eficiencia, sostenibilidad y ahorro. Según Avebiom el número de District Heating con biomasa registrado en España pasó de 77 (con una potencia de 67.464 kW) en 2013, a 117 en 2014 (con una potencia instalada de 139.274 kW).

La jornada organizada por AVEBIOM contó con 63 Alcaldes, responsables municipales y técnicos procedentes de 9 comunidades autónomas.
