La caldera está equipada con un hogar totalmente refrigerado que permite quemar una amplia gama de combustibles y además incorpora una cámara post-combustión Low Nox (LN) para reducir las emisiones de NOx a la atmósfera para obtener un valor de emisiones por debajo de 300 mg/Nm3 al 6 % de O2.
La instalación de biomasa se alimentará con astillas procedentes de subproductos agroforestales y suministrará agua caliente a la red y se hibridará con geotermia para proporcionar flexibilidad de funcionamiento al sistema en todo momento y la máxima eficiencia energética.
